Ortiz returns, Red Sox back in first

Sometimes all you need is a little Papi.

David Ortiz missed nine games with bursitis before returning last night.  He picked up right where he started, going 2-5 with a double, driving in a run and scoring two as the Sox crushed the Rangers 13-5.

Carl Crawford drove in as many runs as Texas scored.  His first two RBI came in the first on a two-out double.  He would add a sacrifice fly in the fifth and then hit a two-run home run in seventh, his ninth of the year.  Jacoby Ellsbury and Adrian Gonzalez also had homers.

Josh Beckett got the win after allowing just one run in six innings.  He improved his record to 11-5 for the season.  Boston is now 79-50 and one game ahead of New York in the standings.
