No 2020 vision for United States

Chicago lost out on hosting the 2016 Olympics.  The US won’t even bother submitting bids to host the 2020 games.

According to an AP source, the USOC notified interested cities that it wouldn’t submit a bid by the September 1 deadline.  The USOC’s action came after it failed to reach a revenue sharing agreement with IOC.  Chicago, New York and Dallas were considering bidding on the games.

The United States hasn’t hosted the Summer Olympics since 1996 in Atlanta and the Winter Olympics since Salt Lake City in 2002.  Denver, Reno/Lake Tahoe and Salt Lake City have expressed interest in hosting the 2022 Winter Olympics.
