Ronnie Brown signs with Eagles

The rich just got richer.  The Philadelphia Eagles today signed free agent running back Ronnie Brown.

Brown is taking his talents from South Beach to South Philly

Brown was the one of the top running backs available this off-season.  Last season with the Dolphins he rushed for 734 yards and five touchdowns; he also had 33 catches for 242 yards.  The Auburn alum and second overall pick in the 2005 draft also played quarterback in Miami’s wildcat offense.  In theory Andy Reid could try and use some wildcat plays featuring Brown under center and the athletic Michael Vick split out wide, but it remains to be seen if that’ll happen.

Brown, an Auburn alum and the second overall pick in the 2005 draft, joins LeSean McCoy in the Eagles backfield.  McCoy gained over 1,500 yards from scrimmage last season and led the team in receptions.

For their part the Dolphins don’t seem too concerned about losing Brown after they traded for Reggie Bush last week.
